Bike to Work 2025 days, which we organized in collaboration with Mobiel 21, once again encouraged many employees to cycle to work more often. This year, they not only cycled more, but also more kilometers: the average number of kilometers cycled per participating employee rose by 40%. This also made an important social contribution, as for every kilometer cycled, we donated €0.23 to Mobiel 21, to support its commitment to sustainable mobility.
A striking result of this year's edition is the increase in the average number of kilometers cycled per participating employee. Not only did more people get on their bikes, they also covered more kilometers. This indicates a growing willingness to use the bicycle as a means of transport in its own right, including on a regular basis for commuting.
So we're extremely pleased with the results of our campaign, which show that our initiative is getting people moving - literally and in their everyday choices. More and more employees are discovering the benefits of cycling to work: not only for their own health, but also as a viable and reliable means of transport.
What's more, it turns out that employees are even more willing to get on their bikes if the aim is also to support a social cause. And we're delighted about that! Thanks to the many kilometers covered, Mobiel 21 is able to invest in teaching bikes and training series for its “De Fietsschool” initiative. In this way, every pedal stroke has contributed not only to the cyclist's personal health, but also to the mobility opportunities of others.
